is a Japanese-born and raised writer/director. After receiving his BA from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts Production, he spent the next decade living and working in Los Angeles and Tokyo. He has directed and shot short films, documentaries, web series, commercials, and music videos.

Yuta's work has been recognized and supported by Tokyo Docs, which led him to direct the feature-length documentary, "Yuparo My Beautiful Dying City" alongside Shiori Ito. The film, which took over eight years to make, delves deep into Yubari — the city with the highest elderly population in the world. This project won the Best Pitch Award at Tokyo Docs and is currently in post-production.

His short film, "Waking Up," won the Best Shorts and Best Director Awards at the Asian on Film Festival. The film also showcased at the Short Short Film Festival and has been featured in over 10 international film festivals. Yuta currently resides in Tokyo, Japan.

2007年に渡米。南カリフォルニア大学 映画・テレビ制作学科 卒業。監督した短編映画がラパノックインディペンデント映画祭、アジアン・オン・フィルムアワードなど、国内外の様々な賞を受賞する。東京とロサンゼルスを拠点に活動する。SONY、ニコン、mixi、オリンパス、パナソニックなどのWeb映像を制作。

2011年、短編映画「ロストサムライ」（The Lost Samurai）が、ラパノックインディペンデント映画祭（Rappahannock Independent Film Festival 2011)で審査員賞受賞。他にもブレインウォッシュ映画祭で最優秀短編賞を受賞した。２作目の短編映画「ウェイキング・アップ」（Waking Up）はアジアン・オン・フィルム・アワード (Asian on Film Award 2013)で日本人初の作品賞と監督賞を受賞。その他、ロサンゼルス日本映画祭 (Japan Film Festival Los Angeles 2011)では最優秀短編賞を、ハッチエクスペリエンスでは2度目のグランドブレイカーに選出される。

2015年にGPSアーティストのYASSANと世界22カ国を旅し、現地の人々と世界最大のGPSアートを制作（JAL協賛企画「Peace on Earth」）。2016年、過激派組織ISによるコバニ包囲戦とその被害を受けて難民キャンプで生活をするクルド人家族を写した長編ドキュメンタリー「レジスタンス・イズ・ライフ」(Resistance is Life, アポ・W・バジディ監督作)を編集する。この作品は13の国際映画祭で作品賞と観客賞を受賞した。2018年、ハリウッド俳優オマー・ミラーとテニス世界大会を訪ねテレビシリーズ「Advantage Omar」を制作（International Academy Web Television Award 2018 ノミネート）。パリ、ロンドン、ニューヨーク、アメリカで撮影し、2シーズン28話を制作する。
